About this tour
Join us for a unique tour around Langanes peninsula. Our local guides know all secrets of the area and will make this a special experience feeling into your fields of interest each time. Here you will find very few people, but many ancient stories that have been passed from generation to generation.
Our first stop is at the panoramic cliffs of Skoruvík, at the breeding ground of Puffins. From here you walk along the cliffs the viewing platform of Stóri Karl (Big Man). This platform is the best place in Iceland to observe the majestic Northern Gannet, which is nesting in Stóri Karl and in the cliffs itself.
Our next visit is the lighthouse at Fontur, driving there makes you feel like you’re traveling to the end of the world.
Then we drive on to the other side of the peninsula and visit Skálar, it seems like you are going back in time. Where the Icelanders still lived 50 years ago, now just sheep graze in the green pasture. You have the opportunity to spend some time here and imagine what it was like to live in a remote place like this.
Here we also take a break for some refreshments, so remember to grab a lunckpackage!
