Individual Self-catering retreat
About this retreat
An extremely powerful individual retreat in the Arctic.
Experience this time for yourself connecting to the wild Icelandic nature. This connection to Mother Earth will help you clear distorted, heavy, and outdated energies that no longer serve you. Get ready for healing and transmutation.
This self-guided and self-catering retreat is for those who are seeking to retire from the world for a while, stay in silence, meditate, and get in deep contact with nature including your own nature.
An individual retreat, especially in a powerful natural environment, is a unique opportunity for deep personal transformation.
Some nurture themselves by walking in nature, sleeping, meditating, journaling, writing, reflecting, sitting by the riverside, or gazing over the ocean.
New perspectives, qualities, and possibilities may unfold in your life.
Your stay is all about becoming still and getting back to yourself. Shortly after your arrival, we’ll set the intention for your stay in a ‘Connecting to the Land’ session with Mirjam. In this session, we focus on how to spend your time here in the best way possible. How to get the most out of your stay. Sending you off vibrating high.
Then you’ll be ready to spend as much time as you like in solitude in our quiet and energizing surroundings. If you’re looking for a positive change in your life, and don’t really know the direction you may want to go, let this retreat be a compass to connect you with your true self to uncover your potential that you may not know existed. Raise your frequency!
We’ll provide you with a journal so you can record everything you’re experiencing, feeling, your insights, and whatever else is bubbling up… if you so wish. There’s no pressure here. Absolutely none.
In fact, while you enjoy time down by the river, on the beach, or on the hillside, just being, doing Ab-So-Lu-Te-Ly nothing, enjoying solitude and silence, you can completely unwind.
And if the mood takes you, you can book one of our tours and we’ll happily take you out onto the peninsula, past Misty Mountain, to the bird cliffs of Skoruvík, the ghost town of Skálar and maybe even all the way to “the-end-of-the-world” the lighthouse at Fontur.
Towards the end of your stay, we reflect on your experience in a ‘Grounding it in’ session with Mirjam. This will help the transition travelling back home and incorporate new tools and the intentions set on retreat into your everyday life.
You will go home feeling more invigorated, happier, and with a new and different sense of motivation!
Because we want this to be your experience fully we did not add any meals to this offer. Maybe you want to sleep in and just have dinner with us, or maybe you like to have breakfast but prepare your dinner.
Meals of choice can be ordered upon arrival or any time during your stay.
Note that from September through May our restaurant is not always open. Winter stays will generally be self-cooking stays.

What our guests say
‘’Langanes is a very special region of Iceland. It is not on the map of the average tourist looking to check Iceland off her bucket list. People who come to this far-flung outpost have specific interests and goals - birds, quietude, a sense of isolation, wide open spaces, interest in local history.
Ytra Lón comes as a surprise. It is a working farm. The rooms are large, fitted with a mini kitchen and fridge, and tastefully furnished. To find this level of comfort in such a remote location is a blessing.
Perfect oasis of peace
‘’I really enjoyed my time in this charming place when staying in a spacious studio apartment. I appreciated a peaceful environment, liked my evening stroll along the river and a nice talk with my hosts. I even had a chance to explore their farm, meet horses and watch the sheepdog training.
I recommend joining one of the Langanes tours organized from Ytra Lón. It was amazing to listen to the stories of local farmers, discover more about Icelanders in general and on top of that admire a huge colony of gannets nesting on cliffs in Skoruvíkurbjarg. ‘’
Amazing place to stay!
‘'Wonderful place, lonely and hauntingly beautiful. Delightful studio, comfy bed, amazing set up, welcoming host and delicious food with many homemade delicacies. A place to remember and to recommend without reservation.''
